What's New.
What's New...just about everything here, right? On my first visit to New York I thought how great it would be if the Artists I met on the street had a web site, other than a phone number or email address for additional contact when I returned home. Indeed one of the more memorable highlights of that visit were these Artists and this fresh "ungalleried" art.  If I could just see the art again, at home, without all the diversion that is the City, I might remember something I couldn't do without. So the site is sorta like a Mohammad coming to the Mountain story.

NYCStreetArtist.Com really began as an idea I had in July of 2000 when I secured the domain name after a flash I had late one night about the concept. JaBolo and I met earlier at my studio to discuss me adding him to my first online gallery, Serious Studios, as a gallery artist. He said he needed flyers to pass out to people who wanted his art but could not carry around a painting all day.  Most said they would come back, but never did, (probably forgetting the place on the street in the immensity of the City). He knew his collectors generally had Internet access and that they would have another chance to buy if they didn't lose the flyer.  I thought the idea was great but a name was needed that would not be a challenge to remember.  I thought about it for awhile.  Then it came to me.  I asked about twelve other Artists I had admired on the street what they thought of the idea and would they particiipate, and NYCStreetArtist.Com was born. And grows...
